YREKA, Calif. -- The federal
government has published a summary "in plain language"
of scientists' studies of the proposal to remove four
dams from the Klamath River, which were unveiled in
September.
The U.S. Department of the Interior
also reiterated economic findings that the dam removals
and related restoration efforts would bring more jobs to
the Klamath Basin.
The review documents have been forwarded
to a peer-review team of six scientists, according to a
news release. The government will also accept public
comments on the overview through Feb. 5.
