Yurok Tribal Council election results

The North and Requa district seats for the Yurok Tribal Council were decided in an election Wednesday.
Incumbent Marjorie Donahue Buckskin won the North District race, taking 56 percent of the vote against challenger Jack Mattz.
David L. Gensaw Sr. took 60.8 percent of the vote in the Requa District to beat incumbent Ray Mattz.
Incumbent Sid Nix of the Weitchpec District defeated his only challenger during an earlier primary.
The other two races winnow a field of 10 candidates during the primary, requiring the Wednesday runoff of the top two candidates in the North and Requa districts.
