Elected officials are not representing the people

Klamath Falls Herald and News
Letter to the Editor

April 16, 2010

We have a real problem in Klamath County. I feel the will of the people is not being represented by our county commissioners, U.S. congressmen, senators and the governor.

With the majority of people against the Klamath Basin Restoration Agreement for many valid reasons, the commissioners went against the majority and voted for it. What does that tell you?

About the Forest Service road closures: After the Forest Service proposed these travel rules to take away our rights to travel and use our public lands, commissioner John Elliott commented in the Herald and News that he saw nothing wrong with the proposed road use closures.

Who are he and the other commissioners representing? It’s certainly not us, the citizens of the county.

I am disgusted with our commissioners and other elected officials caving into the federal government and selling us out.

Remember on voting day to vote only for people who will stand up and have the guts to represent the will of the people.

Personally, I’m voting for Dennis Linthicum for county commissioner Position No. 2.
