Farm Bill to
be explained

The
Klamath County Farm
Service Agency,
along with the
Natural Resource
Conservation Service
and Rural
Development, will
hold informational
meetings and an open
house to provide
information about
changes to USDA
programs that may
impact eligibility
under the Farm
Bill.
The
Food, Conservation
and Energy Act of
2008, also called
the Farm Bill, is
now being
implemented by the
USDA.
Producers
in Fa r m Service
Agency programs will
see changes to
payment limitation
provisions resulting
in reduced payments,
and will be required
to comply with
new gross adjusted
income
restrictions.
Changes
being proposed to
the Farm Storage
Facility Loan
program will qualify
more commodities for
these loans, and the
meetings will provide
the most up-to-date
information to
producers.
Farm Loan
staff will be
available to discuss
changes to those
programs. Staff from
the Redmond office
of Rural
Development, which
serves Klamath
County, also will be
available to discuss
Rural Housing Loans
and community
service projects.
