The
Hatfield Upper Klamath Basin Working Group met Wednesday night to
discuss the proposed Klamath water settlement.
The
group, which was formed by Congress, is involved with ecological
restoration, economic development and reduction of drought impacts in
the
Klamath
Basin
.
Steve Kandra, Merrill farmer and board member of
Klamath Water Users Association, made a presentation and fielded
questions from the two dozen attendees of the organization.
While members will wait to vote whether to endorse the
agreement at a later date, several members expressed gratitude for those
who worked with the other stakeholders to draft the agreement.
See Friday’s Herald and News for more on the
meeting.
