All
members are appointed by the Klamath County Board of Commissioners:
Andréa Rabe,
chairwoman:
Represents water
users from the upper portion of the
Klamath
Basin
. She is a board member of
the Resource Conservancy, a group that represents off-Project irrigators
involved in water adjudication and has been critical of the proposed
agreement. She also was one of 10 irrigators who signed a letter sent to
the Klamath County Board of Commissioners that called for reopening
water negotiations.
Bob Flowers:
Represents mining
and quarry interests on the council. His family has been in the Basin
for generations and is involved in farming. The family also operates a
quarry just outside
Midland
. He participated in the
meeting via teleconference phone.
Craig Ditman:
Represents forest
and timber products on the council and was the lead forester for
Jeld-Wen.
Glenn Barrett:
Represents other
irrigators in the lower portion of the county on the council. He’s
also a member of the water user advocacy group, Water for Life, and the
Klamath Cattlemen’s Association. Both organizations are critical of
the agreement. He signed a letter to county commissioners that called
for reopening negotiations.
Karl Scronce:
Represents
farming and ranching interests on the council. An off-Project irrigator,
he has voiced concerns about the agreement and signed a letter to
commissioners that called for reopening negotiations.
Ken Rykbost:
The council’s
education representative. He formerly worked for Klamath County Oregon
State University Extension office. He was not present at Thursday
night’s meeting.
Tracey Liskey:
Represents the
county’s nursery industry. His family owns and manages Liskey Farms on
Lower Klamath
Lake
. He signed the letter to
commissioners that called for reopening negotiations.
Vince Belleci:
The council’s
wildlife, recreation and tourism representative. A retired county
employee, he lives in
Sprague
River
and has a background in
hunting and wildlife issues.
Bill Ransom:
Represents land
development and planning on the council. A land developer, he has a
background in agriculture and is executive director of the Bucket
Brigade, the irrigator advocacy group that formed in the wake of the
2001 water crisis.
Don Rajnus:
Rajnus is the
council’s hydrology representative. The
Poe
Valley
irrigator signed the letter
to the commissioners that called for reopening water negotiations.
