Organic growers get reimbursements

   The Oregon Department of Agriculture continues to offer reimbursement for organic certification from U.S. Department of Agriculture accredited certifiers. 

   The reimbursement also is offered to Oregon g rowers or processors renewing their certification. 

   Eligibility will be based on certification from Oct. 1, 2007 to Sept. 30, 2009 and will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Reimbursements are limited to 75 percent of fees paid, up to a maximum of $750 per year. 

   All qualified growers or processors are encouraged to apply. A bout 500-600 certified organic growers and producers could be eligible for partial reimbursement.
