| Bureau of Reclamation staff members Mike Green, clockwise from left foreground, Jennifer Berri, Jackie Chand and Kim Flanagan open bids for property owned by the Bureau of Reclamation on Wednesday. |
The
Bureau of Reclamation reported a record number of bids for lease lands
owned by the agency. There were a total of 175 bids on 27 lots (totaling
4,060 acres), with an average of 6.5 bids per lot.
Bids
averaged $254.37 per acre and totaled $1,021,482.50.
Kevin
Moore, Bureau of Reclamation public affairs specialist, said the bids
are more than $500,000 higher than last year because rising commodity
prices have driven the value of land up.
