Restoration work planned

Volunteers are
sought for the Bureau of Land Management's 16th annual National
Public Lands Day Saturday to help complete several multiple
restoration projects at the Wood River Wetland.
According to a press release,
people will plant native vegetation, maintain bird boxes, remove
weeds, install trail markers and clear vegetation surrounding native
cottonwoods.
Participants should arrive at
the Wood River Wetland 30 miles north of Klamath Falls off Modoc
Point Road at the north end of Agency Lake by 8:30 a.m. A free
barbecue will be about 1 p.m. Each person will receive a National
Public Lands Day T-shirt.
Volunteers should wear or bring
a sweatshirt or medium weight jacket, layered shirts, long pants,
sturdy shoes, work gloves and a hat with brim. Work gloves, drinking
water and snacks will be provided.
