Authorities on Monday had little
information and no suspects in the case, said
Detective Mike Anderson of the Klamath Falls Police
Department. The vandals drew a face with the message
“You can’t eat $” on the bucket.
A maintenance crew removed the graffiti
from the bucket Monday afternoon.
The bucket is a sometimescontroversial
symbol of the 2001 Klamath Basin water crisis and
represents support for area farmers whose irrigation
water was cut off by the federal government.
Faces with the message also were found at
a vacant building at Spring Street and Esplanade
Avenue and on a utility box at Eighth and Main
streets.
Authorities believe the vandalism occurred
late Sunday or early Monday.
The incident remains under investigation.

Falls Police Department at 883-5336, or the
anonymous tip line at 883-5334.
