They want dams on Lower Klamath River removed

About 75 people holding signs such as "Undam the Klamath" demonstrated in front of PacificCorp headquarters in Northeast Portland Thursday afternoon. "We're getting a lot of lip service from PacificCorp, but we're ready to sit down at the negotiating table" says Craig Tucker with the Karuk Tribe.  Georgianna Myers with the Klamath Justice Coalition says the dams are destroying tribes way of life. "Each year, the algae gets worse, we can't fish or swim in the river, the fish have lesions and make us sick:"

In a statement, PacificCorp says it's open to negotiations but remains committed to providing electricity at an affordable price to its customers.
