A meeting of the Klamath River Compact Commission (KRCC) will convene on the 18th day of May 2010 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.  The public meeting will be held at the Klamath County Soil & Water Conservation District conference room located at 2316 South 6th Street in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

The Commission welcomes a new representative from the State of California.  Curtis Anderson, Northern Region Office Chief of California Department of Water Resources assumed his responsibilities after the retirement of Dwight Russell.  I thank Mr. Russell for his years of service on the KRCC and look forward to working with Mr. Anderson.

The Klamath River Basin Compact was ratified by the States of Oregon and California in April 1957.  Enacted by the 85th Congress the Compact was signed by President Eisenhower on August 30, 1957.  Major purposes of the Compact, with respect to the water resources of the Klamath Basin, are to facilitate and promote the orderly, integrated and comprehensive development, use, conservation and control for various purposes.
