RENEWABLE ENERGY CONFERENCE 2006

WHAT:             The Klamath Soil and Water Conservation District with assistance from the Klamath Water Users Association and in partnership with local business and organizations is presenting the Klamath Basin Renewable Energy Conference.  This one-day event will focus on multiple energy alternatives and solutions for landowners.

Among the scheduled events and topics, is a demonstration and production of bio-diesel fuel.  Several different panels will discuss a wide variety of topics, including the success of community wind farms, on-farm solar power, small low volume hydropower production, bio-fuels and biomass.

WHERE:           Klamath County Fairgrounds in Klamath Falls, Oregon

WHEN:             November 29, 2006 - - 7:30am-5:00pm

WHO:               The Conference is sponsored by the Klamath Soil and Water Conservation District, and the public is invited to attend. Speakers from private industry, community cooperatives, university research, tribes and government will participate in various presentations, demonstrations and discussions.  Also, representatives of several funding agencies and organizations will provide information on grants, loans and tax incentives that are available to assist landowners with project implementation.

WHY:                The cost of energy is rising.  Even the smallest of energy improvements on the farm or ranch can result in improved cash flow.
