.
"Although the meeting was brief we felt we had a productive
discussion with both Mr. Reiten and his top staff. We were able to
discuss some strategies for energy production in
Siskiyou
County
as well as some salmon
production and habitat improvement projects" stated Supervisor
Cook. "We were able to discuss what we believe are the wishes of
the citizens of Siskiyou County in the way of dam retention, increased
salmon production, irrigation water surety and economic development and
job creation. I admit it did become a rather wide ranging discussion,
however, we have a much better understanding of Pacific Power's position
of dam removal and how we can assist with dam relicensing".
Supervisor Cook had previously met with Mr. Reiten and Greg Abel,
PacifiCorp Chairman and CEO, this was Supervisors Kobseff' first meeting
with the power company's upper management staff. "I found them very
willing to listen to our concerns and to offer assistance and
suggestions." said Kobseff "I was very satisfied with our
discussions and hope that we can continue our dialogue".
