My thoughts on 4th of July

Pioneer Press
Fort Jones, CA

July 4, 2010

To the Editor:

Hey!  Here are some thoughts for the 4th of July!  I may be an ol' disabled soldier, but I can still tell of my opinions, conclusions and comments!

I swore an oath of honor to the US Army "To protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America" in '66.

With regard to the "illegal and unconstitutional" workings of the Klamath Basin Restoration Agreement and Klamath River Hydrological Agreement's.  They are illegal!

I say in quotation of John Vernon, actor in "Outlaw Josey Wales" movie of 1976 "don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining!"

And a quotation of Chief Dan George in that same movie "The white man is sneaking up on us again!"

Only this time, it is the greedy Indian groups with new-found-political-powers and lots of our free tax dollars who are sneaking up on us!  This KBRA is about stealing water and water rights by Indian greed and political lies!

Intelligence may come from education.  Education is not a guarantee of wisdom!

I think that many politicians are guilty of violating their oaths of office to "protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

When or if the Klamath dams are removed, the salmon will not be helped, the winter water will flood silt and sediment onto the citizens, be gone-to-waste into the Pacific Ocean and thenŠ in August and September the river water will be warm and shallow without the cooler water from the Klamath dams!  The gill rot and other fish diseases will kill off a lot of salmon!

The government will take billions of dollars of tax payers' money for no good reason.  Thousand of people will loose their jobs and water rights and afterwards the government will raise the taxes in CA and OR to take more tax payers' money to build more dams and reservoirs!  That is not wisdom.
