I was thrilled to read Lance Waldren's front page article in the East
Edition regarding Dr. Viets' plan of how to store enough cold water
to take care of the many needs in the Basin.
Yes,
his plan is a solution for a problem.
In
order to come up with a solution, the good doctor had to think
outside of the proverbial box. Once he allowed himself to contemplate
that which was not normal or typical, he came up with a solution.
Now, I
am not the one who is in a position - by virtue of my
technical knowledge - to say whether the doctor's plan is a good one
or not.
What I
do know is that he has come up with a conceivable solution and
it is now on the table to discuss by virtue of it being published on
our front page. Now, we as a community must decide if it is the
solution that will ultimately take care of our problem.
There
are aspects about the plan that seem outlandish, but so did the
concept of putting someone on the moon at one point in time.
Actually,
in my way of thinking, building a lake within a lake to
salvage farming, fish and birds is a more practical idea than putting
a man on the moon - plus, we should do it for no other reason than to
piss off Felice Page and Andy Kerr.
Speaking
of people who stand in the way, Felice's Klamath
Riverkeepers lawsuit that claims fish waste is polluting the river is
nothing more than mere bull waste - yes, you correctly understand the
meaning of waste.
Once
again, we see a classic example of a lawsuit with zero merit
which its sole intention is to cause agencies and private
corporations to squirm and a process to come to a halt. This man and
his fellow comrads are sick puppies.
Felice
and his buddies are smoking too much of that wacky-tobaccy
down there in
Orleans
and it has gotten in his way of reasonable
thought.
