Yes we can turn into a Stalinist
country overnight.Was
it that long ago that we don't remember or is it
that we don't recite history anymore if it is
inconvenient to those pushing a Stalinistic
agenda?
Remember the notion of Stalin nationalizing the
food production, because if the government
absolutely controls food, it absolutely controls
the people.
Well here we go, Obama.
The Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009 would
criminalize my mother's garden and make her a
felon for feeding me her organic produce from
the garden.
Plus, every meal that she serves me from her
garden, she will be fined a million bucks.
Sound crazy?
Yes it is crazy.
But it's true.
And it's just what Barack Hussein Obama II
wants.
The bill applies to all "food establishments."
The term 'food establishment' means a
slaughterhouse (except those regulated under the
Federal Meat Inspection Act or the Poultry
Products Inspection Act), factory, warehouse, or
facility owned or operated by a person located
in any State that processes food or a facility
that holds, stores, or transports food or food
ingredients.
What this will do is force anyone who produces
food of any kind, and then transports it to a
different location for sale, to register with a
new federal agency called the "Food Safety
Administration." Even growers who only sell only
fruit and/or vegetables at farmers markets would
not only have to register, but they would be
subject inspections by federal agents of their
property and all records related to food
production. The frequency of these inspections
will be determined by the whim of the Food
Safety Administration. Mandatory "safety"
records would have to be kept.
It will literally put all independent farmers
and food producers out of business due to the
huge amounts of money it will take to conform to
factory farming methods. If people choose to
farm without industry standards such as chemical
pesticides and fertilizers they will be subject
to a variety of harassment from this completely
new agency that has never before existed.
That's right, a whole new government agency is
being created just to police food, for our own
protection of course.
Following are some of the biggest red flags in
the bill:
* Legally binds state agriculture departments to
enforcing federal guidelines effectively taking
away the states power to do anything other than
being food police for the feds.
* Effectively criminalizes organic farming but
doesn't actually use the word organic.
* Effects anyone growing food even if they are
not selling it but consuming it.
* Effects anyone producing meat of any kind
including wild game.
* Legislation is so broad based that every
aspect of growing or producing food can be made
illegal. There are no specifics which is
bizarre considering how long the legislation
is.
* It will allow the appointing of
officials from the factory farming corporations
and lobbyists and classify them as experts and
allow them to determine and interpret the
legislation. Who do you think they are going to
side with?
* The wording is so broad based that a backyard
gardener could be fined and more.
