To the Editor:
Congressman McClintock is a Statesman, not a
politician. He uses common sense and fiscal
responsibility. We need ALL of our
Supervisors to do the same and NOT vote for
the KBRA, (Klammath Basin Restoration
Agreement). If they do, it will put them (as
well as We The People) in a compromised
position in which they cannot have a say on
our dams.
If Mr. Cook or any other BOS wants the
possible $20 million which the bond may
bring them, $20 million is nothing compared
to how valuable the dams are in maintaining
water quality and levels in the Klammath and
the value of the homes along the river and
elsewhere as a tax base.
We have had these Environmental groups or
NGO's, (Non-Governmental Organizations) in
the United Nations since 1946. In 1992 they
joined in with the Biodiversity Treaty to
save the pristine areas in the United States
for Posterity. They call their plan for
changing America into Wilderness, The
Wilderness Project, or Network, and they are
using the Endangered Species Act and the
Environmental Protection Agency to do so.
They also have a Ramsar Convention on
Wetlands Project and more than likely have
their eyes on the Tulelake area! They have
corrupted the hearts and minds of many
people, with sob stories and outright lies
about some of the animals, birds, fish and
forests, in their goal to make 55% of
America a Wilderness, along with the world.
To do this they must depopulate 80 to 90% of
the humans who are causing all the problems
of which they speak. See http://sweetliberty.org/issues/rewilding/mission.html
The forests have burned because of all the
lawsuits the NGO's have put against cleaning
up the underbrush and thinning out the
trees.
The Klamath River has been polluted since
its birth because of volcanic activity in
this whole area. The cause is the subduction
of Juan de Fuca and Gorda plates which
create the volcanoes in the Cascade range as
well as make them erupt. The NGO's say the
dams are causing all this pollution and the
algae. The Truth points to the fact that the
dams "purify" the water. There are warm
springs flowing into the Klamath, caused by
volcanic activity. The Klamath is a warm and
shallow river and that is what creates the
harmless algae which can be removed.
But that is not in the plans of the NGO's.
They want to rewild the whole area and make
the people move. They printed a picture
where they painted the river an emerald
green showing how bad the algae was.
History shows the health of many of the
Indigenous tribes along the Klamath in
California, was poor. See George Gibbs
Report,1851 Journal of McKee's Klamath
Expedition.
Now, we have the Department of Interior and
all of their departments, the President and
Congress representing the NGO's and doing
their bidding, along with too many
uninformed people who side with them. Are we
just going to sit there and let them destroy
our ability to own land and water, to grow
food and let them decide to take away our
freedoms of what to do with it? We Will NOT
swallow the KBRA, we spit it out!
