Siskiyou County, Calif. — Siskiyou County Counsel Thomas
Guarino has an issue with the recently-released report on
the potential economic impacts of two Klamath River
agreements, which he will take to the Siskiyou County Board
of Supervisors meeting Tuesday.
The report, prepared by Dr. David Gallo of the University of
California, Davis and released Oct. 12, estimates an
economic gain for the county both in income and jobs.
The report also references a $20 million payment to the
county as part of the Klamath Basin Restoration Agreement,
which Guarino claimed Wednesday is no longer included in the
legislation required to enact the agreement.
Guarino said that he will be before the Siskiyou County
Board of Supervisors Oct. 19 to discuss the issue and see
how the board will proceed.
