Yreka, Calif. — A Shasta River Watershed-wide
Permitting Program Workshop for Agricultural Water Diverters
will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 20 at the U.S. Fish
& Wildlife Service, 1829 S. Oregon St. in Yreka.
The purpose of this workshop, according to a
recent press release, is to provide additional information
to agricultural irrigation water rights holders about the
Shasta River Watershed-wide Permitting Program, and the
requirements to obtain Incidental Take Permits and 1602
Agreements.
The Shasta Valley Resource Conservation
District and Department of Fish and Game representatives
will be available to answer questions on how the program
will assist water diverters and meet requirements for the
protection of coho salmon as a listed (threatened) species.
