The Department of Fish and Game (DFG) staff will present information on the current status of coho salmon in the Shasta River and the current requirements for 1600 Agreements and Incidental Take Permits.
The SVRCD will discuss the status of the Shasta River Watershed-wide Permitting Program (WPP). The WPP was developed in response to coho salmon being listed as threatened under the California Endangered Species Act (CESA). The SVRCD will be considering the implementation of this program, which is intended to be an option for water diverters to become compliant with CESA and Fish and Game Code section 1602 by streamlining the process to obtain take authorization and SAAs for any activity the program covers.
The public is encouraged to ask questions and give comments to the SVRCD and DFG regarding the Watershed-wide Permitting Program.
For more information about the meeting, con tact Adriane Garayalde, SVRCD district administrator, at 842-6121, ext. 106 or garayalde@snowcrest.net.
