Yreka, Calif. — The California Department of
Fish and Game (DFG) and the Shasta Valley Resource
Conservation District (SVRCD) will hold a workshop for the
public regarding water diversions from the Shasta River
Watershed by agricultural operators on Thursday, May 26. The
workshop is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the U.S. Fish &
Wildlife Office, 1829 S. Oregon St. in Yreka.
The DFG and SVRCD staff will present information to agricultural water diverters on enrolling in the Shasta River Watershed-wide Permitting Program and outside the program (Individual Permitting Process) for obtaining Streambed Alteration Agreements. The DFG will also discuss the measures to protect fish and wildlife resources this diversion season, and answer questions from the community.
